The Billabong, Kuranda

Set among 165 acres of tropical rainforest and eucalypt woodland, The Billabong Kuranda offers an event setting with a distinct connection to the surrounding landscape. The venue is about 45 minutes from Cairns, five minutes from Kuranda Village and 10 minutes from Barron Falls National Park, making it a practical base for gatherings in the Kuranda area.

The open-air deck looks across a lily-filled billabong, where guests can take in the water and the local wildlife. Turtles, eels, lizards, wallabies and butterflies are all mentioned as part of the environment, while a campfire can be lit during winter. The overall setting suits occasions where the natural surroundings are part of the experience rather than simply a backdrop.

The Billabong caters for private and corporate functions, weddings, concerts and other events, with space for occasions of different styles and sizes. Six individually designed one- and two-bedroom cabins provide on-site accommodation options in a secluded rainforest setting.
