Kuranda Caravan park

Kuranda Caravan Park offers a broad choice of stays on nine acres of lush rainforest in Kuranda, around a two-minute drive or 15-minute walk from the village. Options range from powered and unpowered camping sites to lodge rooms, self-catering poolside units and rainforest cabins. Longer-term rentals, including caravans, park units and a family cottage, are also listed.

The park is set up for different types of travellers, with single, double and family budget rooms, along with studio, family, double, triple and quad accommodation options. Rainforest cabins and poolside units include self-catering facilities, while budget accommodation shares kitchen amenities. Camping guests can use the camp kitchen and shared barbecues, making the site practical for families, groups and visitors travelling on a simpler budget.

Onsite facilities include a swimming pool, camp kitchen and an onsite café with hot and cold drinks, ice creams, pastries and cakes. The café is arranged around an open-air veranda and raised deck overlooking the rainforest and local wildlife attractions, providing a quiet place to sit within the park. There are also cafés, restaurants and an IGA supermarket in and around Kuranda village, accessible by foot or car.

The setting will appeal to nature lovers, bushwalkers and birdwatchers, as well as anyone looking for a quieter base in the mountains above Cairns. The park’s new owners, Kristy and Jason, took over on 16 September 2024. With its mix of accommodation, shared facilities and proximity to Kuranda village, it suits solo travellers, couples and families seeking a rainforest stay with several accommodation styles to choose from.
