Yorkeys Knob Adventure Playground

Yorkeys Knob Adventure Playground is part of Yorkeys Knob Foreshore Reserve, offering a free, family-friendly day out on the Cairns coast. The park has two playgrounds: a smaller beach playground at the northern end and a larger adventure playground to the south, with equipment suited to children of different ages.

Play features include slides, swings, climbing structures, a mini rock-climbing wall, wobbling bridge and flying fox. Fitness equipment is also available for older children and adults. Beyond the play areas, the reserve has a 1.5-kilometre beach, coastal views, picnic tables, BBQs, toilets, showers and car parking, making it practical for families planning to stay for a while.

A flat path runs along the coast and through the park on the Esplanade, with access suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The source notes that accessible playground equipment is limited. Yorkeys Knob beach and park are dog-friendly, although dogs must remain on leash and are not permitted in the playgrounds. Anyone using the beach should read the safety notices, as the water may have stingers or crocodiles, and some sections are unsuitable for swimming because of strong waves and currents.
